Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that governing Nigeria is not as difficult as many perceive, stressing that what the country truly needs is honest and purposeful leadership.
Speaking at a public engagement, Obasanjo noted that Nigeria is endowed with abundant human and natural resources capable of making it a prosperous nation. However, he maintained that the lack of leaders with sincerity of purpose and integrity has continued to hinder the country’s progress.
“Nigeria is easy to govern, but it requires leaders who are honest, transparent, and purposeful in their commitment to serve the people,” Obasanjo said.
The former president urged both current and aspiring leaders to put national interest above personal gain, insisting that genuine patriotism and accountability are indispensable for Nigeria’s growth and development.
